Hello

INFO

Size: A5
Material: 300 m/g2 coldpressed watercolor paper, painted with watercolor or drawn with pencil.
Price: 42 EUR, includes wrapping and shipping to everywhere. Payment via Paypal, in Finland via bank transfer.

What to do: Send me a note including your shipment address, paypal name and short description of what you want me to draw/paint for you. I'll send me paypal-address in return.

You can tell me these facts in another note, because I will choose 3 first ones and writing descriptions takes time:
Go through my gallery/tumblr ([link] to see what I do best and how I render characters (what I like and what I think I draw the best are children, young adults and animals, especially canines and horses). Tell me if you have certain kind of set-up, mood, color scheme, etc. in mind and I'll do my best to execute it to paper. If you want commission to be about your character, tell me a little bit of how they are and what sort of environment they could live in. Reference pictures are helpful too. No character limitations / extra charges - more characters just mean less background-detail.

I will start working when the payment shows in my account. I wont send sketches or WIPs to the commissioner to see, but I will do the painting/drawing so many times I'm happy with it. I'm hoping the commissioner trusts my judgement.

Painting process

I draw the sketch of the painting straight on the watercolor paper. Most of the time it is just a rough idea of what I want and where, and the details come in as I paint.

My painting process takes approximately 1-8 hours depending what is the size of the painting and how detailed it is. I rarely paint anything bigger than A4, and most of my paintings are something between A5 and A4.

I prefer to finish the painting same day as I started it - I get anxious and bored easily, if the painting takes more than one evening to finish. It also tells me that my vision is somehow working if I have a smooth, quick flowing mood while I'm painting.

Use of masking fluid and waxes

I use masking fluid if I want something to stay completely white in the painting. Nowadays I rarely use it, because it takes too much time to dry, it easily ruins the brushes and it can damage the paper and the painting when removing it, especially when using rough cold pressed paper.

If I want to make a rough,  "aggressive" texture, I use candle wax. I rub it on a dry, clean paper with actual colorless candle. Paint doesn't stick to wax, so it will make nice texture which can be used to represent mist, snow, watersplashes, etc. Candle wax is nice to use because it is dry - some of the other waxes such as vaseline and so can be wet and sticky and mess the colors.

Commissions, art-trades, requests?

I'm opening few commissions when I know I have time to work on them. Unfortunately I cannot promise to do any art-trades because of the lack of time. Requests can be done, but I won't make any promises to execute them.

Copyrights

My paintings cannot be used in any commercial work or in any context to make money with out my permission. Commissions, gifts, prints and such are for personal use only.  If you use my painting to illustrate your blog, facebook-page or so, I would appreciate if you would link my dA-page as a source.

I hope this was somewhat informative. :)
