light for the traveler by pettryb light for the traveler by pettryb
For some time I've felt like watercolor hasn't given me much and it's been a little uninspiring to work with them. Still I've been feeling guilty to experience with other mediums just because my watercolors aren't perfect and I should practice till they are!

Now I'm going to surpass the guilt and do exactly what I want with what I want. Very refreshing. :)

Onpa hieno!! Tähän tiivistyy talvi-iltojen salaperäisyys ja taianomaisuus.. Käyttäisit enemmänkin lyijäreitä.Nod

Kiitoksia kovasti! :aww:
Lyijärillä piirtäminen on kyllä tosi mukavaa puuhaa, pitäis varmaan taas laittaa tuumasta toimeen. :)

great atmosphere! the forest is so spooky, and yet that little lamp light looks warm and inviting! it looks a little like the illustration to an astrid lindgren fairy tale :) so what medium is this, pencil? and what size is the paper?

It's a pencil drawing and it's a little bit bigger than A4. :)

I just love the atmosphere you put into your pictures. I feel like an animal hidding behind tree and watching this little traveler on his way.

It is really that you are trying new techniques, I'm so excited to see your work in different ways which are still so beautiful and lovely.

Do what you want! You'll go back to the watercolors when it feels right I'm sure. (also this is lovely)

I think so, too. And it is really educating to work with pencils when it comes to contrast and such, and hopefully it will affect my watercolor work positively. :)

Surpassing the guilt and doing what you feel like sounds good! Because well, even though I understand your will to practice watercolors to perfection, the idea of not being allowed to use other mediums until you're perfect sounds a bit silly. And besides, I find your use of other mediums very inspiring! As do many other people too, apparently. :)

I just adore your way of expressing light in this one. And it's amazing how the places you draw really come off as places that you can imagine, so cooool.

It is very very silly, I just feel like watercolor is my number one medium and so I should perfect it. :P

Thank you very much for the kind words.
